Uznałem, że pierwszy post w moim autorskim blogu powinien traktować o muzyce, którą lubię i cenię, której słucham i będę słuchał z przyjemnością, która przynosi odprężenie, czy uspokojenie. Jej przykładem jest wczesna twórczość zespołu Dead Can Dance. Zespół został założony w Melbourne (Australia) w 1981 roku przez dwoje muzyków : Brendana Perry i Lisę Gerrard, lecz już w 1982 roku przeniósł się do Anglii, gdzie podpisał kontrakt z niezależną wytwórnią płytową 4AD. Debiutancki album zatytułowany po prostu „Dead Can Cance” ukazał się w lutym 1984 roku, muzyka zawarta na nim to klasyczny post punk z elementami gotyku i muzyki etnicznej. Płyta, moim zdaniem, bardzo interesująca artystycznie, zróżnicowana melodycznie, nie pozwalająca się nudzić przy jej odsłuchiwaniu. Uważam jednak, że stanowiła tylko przedsmak przez wydaną przez zespół w sierpniu 1984 roku EP-ką „Garden Of The Arcane Delights”. Cztery utwory, które się na niej znalazły fascynują swą melodyką, atmosferą, bogatą aranżacją znacznie wykraczając poza wcześniej przyjęte przez zespół ramy i kanony post punka. Najbardziej doskonałym spośród nich jest „In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated”, który od momentu pierwszego jego odsłuchania znalazł się na mojej subiektywnej liście utworów ponadczasowych i to w górnej jej części.
I decided that the first post in this blog should treat about the music which I like and appreciate and listen with pleasure and fascination. A classic example of such music is early work of an Australian band Dead Can Dance. This band was founded in Melbourne, Australia in 1981 by two musicians : Brendan Perry and Lisa Gerrard, but they soon moved to England back in 1982, where they signed the contract with an independent record label 4AD. The debut album titled simply "Dead Can Dance" was released in February 1984 and music contained on it could be described as post punk with elements of gothic and ethnic music. In my opinion, this album was very interesting artistically, with drum driven melodies and it didn't allow to get bored by listeners. However, it was only a foretaste of the next issue of the band which was a four track EP "Garden Of The Arcane Delight", released in August 1984. Four songs that were placed on this album have got fascinating melodies, atmosphere, rich arrangements going far beyond the framework and cannons of post punk which were previously established by the band. The most excellent one from those pieces is obviously "In Power We Entrust The Love Advocated", which landed on my subjective list of timeless music from the moment when I heard it for the first time.
